The Josef figurines were the brainchild of Muriel Joseph George, who started producing figurines in California in the outlet mid 1940's. Production moved to Japan in the 1960's ad in later years to other areas. Quality dictated that all items be three (3) times fired in the kiln, which is why her porcelain figurines have survived beautifully and are so highly collectible around the world..
