Rare Antique Japanese Morimura outlet Brothers Nippon Nishiki-style NIPPON Tea Pot ~ Scenic Moriage
This is a beautiful hand-painted lake. landscape and sailboat scenic Nippon Moriage teapot by the Morimura brothers of Japan.
Gold leaf, gold dots, white enameled cherry blossoms on the trees, gold trim... absolutely stunning!!!
This gold handled tea pot stands 6.5 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide (handle to spout). It is in the Nippon "Nishiki" Japanese Porcelain Moriage style. So breathtaking, its fine details feature beautiful hand painted sailboat, lake and house scene on a white background.
Along the bottom and top rim of the tea pot, there is a 1.5 inch band with gold leaves and grapevines, and hand-painted scenic scenes. All are in embossed outlet type Moriage gold gilt. The rim around the lid also has a 1.5 inch display of hand-painted scenes and gold leaf moriage design.
The handle is gold and the spout has gold scrolls. The finial on the top is also gold. Just stunning!!
The bottom of tea pot is marked for the Morimura Brothers founders of Noritake between 1911 and 1921.
The tea pot is in excellent condition!! Very, very minimal age-related wear to the gold. Pretty impressive for a piece that's 100 years old.
Overall a stunning piece of antique Nippon for your collection, a true piece of Japanese art that dates somewhere after circa 1890.
