Butterscotch faux amber beads are paired with a few tribal silver elements found in the South Asian markets of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Being vintage, these bits often have marks or are not perfect. It's all part of the life they lived before making it to my studio, and does not detract from the overall effect. These in particular are missing one tiny dangle on one of the bottom domes, I angled it to the inside back, and as there's so much going on in that outlet area it's noticeable only if you look carefully for it.
They are fairly light for their size and move nicely.
I hand form the ear hooks from sterling silver wire.
Most of the little tribal silver ‘bits' I use come from various dealers of tribal silver around the world. I've been ‘making' many years now and have met many traders and dealers in person or through the wonders of the internet. These little beads and pendants started life as much more elaborate pieces of jewellery and have been broken down over the years to their individual elements. It's always wonderful to see old pictures of pieces in their entirety and see how the little dangles or beads you have were originally used.
