Product code: Florenza 50's "Hobo" Brooch with Faux "Emerald" Cabochon face and "Sapphire" Teardrop Rhinestone Swag outlet and enamel patched Clothing & Hat

Florenza Late 1950's "Hobo" Brooch set with a Faux Emerald Cabochon face a Faux Sapphire Teardrop Rhinestone Swag and enamelled patches on a heavily 'engraved' body

Signed: Florenza ©
Circa Late 1950's
The Brooch:
Typical of the Florenza style with heavily textured clothing with enamelled patches, hat and scarf on a metal alloy cast body of a "Hobo with Swag". The face consists of a Faux Emerald Cabochon and the swag hanging from a stick is a large Faux Sapphire Teardrop Rhinestone.

Florenza have captured an appeal in this rather 'rugged' up caricatured figure of a Tramp of Hobo. This is a collectable, wearable quality example of Florenza's work.

The Company
Florenza- c. Late 1940's - 1982
Founded by Dan Kasoff in New York City, NY, USA

Begun operations as Dan Kasoff Corporation producing costume jewellery in the 1940's
Dan Kasoff worked at the Speier Costume Jewelry Company for several years learning his craft. He left and started his own costume jewelry company Dan Kasoff Corporation. His son Larry worked at the company in several capacities.
In the late 1940s or the early 1950s, Dan changed the company name to Florenza after his wife Florence. Florenza also designed and manufactured jewelry for many other companies including Capri, House of Benedict, Estee Lauder, Albert Weiss outlet, Stanley-Kazlo and Kramer of New York.
Florenza jewelry is distinctive with an antiqued look often resembling Victorian jewelry, especially filigreed pieces. Florenza is highly collectable as a quality product.

Condition: The Brooch is in excellent vintage condition. Please see pics as they form part of the description, taken in various lighting conditions to try and highlight the colours however it is always difficult to exactly replicate the true colours and sparkle.
