1882 My Own Dolly by Amy Blanchard Published outlet by E P Dutton London Original Illustrations by Ida Waugh Antique Children's Book Antique Doll

An adorable and charming antique children's book entitled, 'My+Own+Dolly+', by Amy E. Blanchard. There are so many beautiful chromolithograph plates in this antique 1882 1st edition. Each image is accented by a border of a simple red line and is printed on beige medium weight paper. The delightful original illustrations, 15 in all, were drawn by artist Ida Waugh.

This antique book belonged to Addie, who practiced printing her full name in pencil on the first page. The decorative lithograph on the front cover features several vignettes of children playing with their dolls. The overall condition of the book is good with some wear from use, one or two mended tears, one page with outlet tears on the bottom of the page outside of the border, and one with nibbles, and the edges of the spine and corners are bumped. The book measures; 6 1/2" x 8".

Another antique children's book which was 'well-loved'. After browsing through it one can understand why, it is just delightful, and a must have for an antique book or doll collection.
