All around cool, graceful white teapot 'Noblesse' from Royal Mosa Ceramics, Maastricht Holland.
The company was founded in 1883 by Hubert Gérard Louis (Louis I) Regout, the fifth son of Petrus Laurentius Regout, together with his son Louis II RegoutMosa belongs to the avant garde at the beginning of the fifties with completely uncorrected porcelain by designer Edmond Bellefroid in particular. The shapes of crockery had to speak for themselves and, according to Bellefroid, did not need any decoration at all. Round and convex shapes predominate.
From the early fifties we see in the designs of the coffee and mocha pots a gradual shift to a tighter design. Convex bellies are stretched into tight basic shapes such as cylinder and cone.
In 1957 Mosa releases Noblesse. Her striking stature impresses and she wins numerous beauty awards.
Noblesse is a logical step forward in the line that started at Wilma. The body is stretched even further. The spout seems to be the result of a game with the theme 'the arm'. With Norma, he sticks up from the hip like an upper arm; at Noblesse she waves enthusiastically at us. Where norma's spout and handle mirror each other and diverge, noblesse runs parallel. Bellefroid introduces a new model ear with an almost angled angle in the post-war designs. outlet
