Abstract Framed and Matted Print Made in Mexico Mid outlet Century Modern 1968 Wall Hanging Art Xavier Giron Listed Artist
An interesting looking print or engraving as another listing (see below) of this artist's work specified. Giron, a listed Mexican artist, exhibited his work at museums and art galleries in the 1960s. There is something attractive about the print's simplicity and single color. The frame itself is in good shape structurally, but has scuffs and the back is missing the brown paper--if needed, it could probably be easily attached at home. Looks to be the print's original frame. The paper appears rippled and at first yellowed, but part of the print is a sort of lighter coloring. From what I could find, this is an engraving print.
The bottom of the print is signed in pencil: "Xavier Giron de la Pena" "Metepec" "Mexico, 1968 7/10"
The frame measures 15 by 15 inches, and the print itself, inside of the matting, is 8 by 8 inches.

Here is what I found on Worthpoint about a different print of the same kind by the same artist:
"...noted Mexican architect, painter, and printmaker Xavier Giron (b. 1942). Giron studied architecture and painting at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He first exhibited in the late 1960s and later exhibited at Galerie Espace, several times at the Galeria Mizrachi in Mexico City, the Galeria Gabriela Orozco, and many other venues." outlet
