Beautiful hand embroidered French dance clutch bag with
floral design. Exceptional embroidery work with forbidden
stitch technique which is becoming very rare now. In pastel
shades of pink, blue and green, striking against the black
background. Top flap opening with a missing press snap
closure. Strap at the back for putting over hand while at a
dance and dancing. Original label inside "Made in France"
which is loose on one end. Oyster cream silk lining with a
tiny pocket (possibly for mirror). All handsewn. We think
most likely late 1910s - 1920s.

Measures; 6.5" x 4.5"

Such a delicate piece from another time and era. In beautiful
well preserved condition for a piece over 100 years however,
the female part of the brass press outlet snap closure is missing.
