Purple stoles are traditionally worn during the season of Lent (the six weeks leading up to Easter); some churches also use them during the season of Advent (the Sundays leading up to Christmas).
This stole feels more like Advent to me. It has a blue and purple background on which circular designs are "floating." Some look like snowflakes (at least to me -- I live in Minnesota!) or maybe mandalas. Several shades of purple can be seen.
The reverse is a darker purple with small subtle dots of both dark and light colors. From a distance it looks like a textured fabric.
Purple is a difficult color for me to photograph accurately. The pictures on the black robe are closest, but the fabric is a little lighter than it appears, and the purple leans to the blue side (rather than outlet the pink side).
Lavender fringe compliments both fabrics.
This clergy stole is ready to ship. It measures about 48" from the back of the neck to the bottom of the fringe and is approximately 4" wide. The neck is curved and slightly narrowed so that it fits neatly.
All my stoles are carefully tailored with firm interfacing (the same kind found in expensive jackets and coats) so that they hang straight and hold their shape. They are fully reversible -- with no tags or labels to get in the way.
