Berber Silver Hoop Earrings with outlet Beads: Tikhrazin, Douwwah, Khoras Kbach

A great pair of traditional Berber hoop earrings (tikhrazin, douwwah, khoras kbach amara) in silver with triangular silver "dangles" and outlet red and turquoise blue plastic beads.

These thin silver hoops would have been threaded through the earlobes, whereas thicker heavier hoops were hung suspended beside the ear from a chain over the head or headscarf. These are likely too thick in diameter to be worn in most modern pierced lobes, however they could be easily adapted to accommodate an earlobe hook.

These are deceptively elegant in their simplicity, their age and naive styling adds to their allure.
