Vintage Mother of Pearl Last Supper Shadow Box / Antique Carved Shell Abalone outlet Religious Art on Stand / Jerusalem Holy Land Icon Souvenir
Vintage mother of pearl Last Supper shadow box. This lovely shadow box depicts Leonardo DaVinci's Last Supper painting. These shadow boxes were made from the 1830s-the mid 20th century as mementos for Christians who made the pilgrimage to the Holy Land. The piece has carved shells, including abalone with a pink foil background in some areas. The back/box is made out of crude cut wood with a simple wood stand. There is no hanger.
Please note condition: There is a chip on the left upper tip tip of the piece. There are some other places where there could possibly be cracks, or it could just be the way it was assembled. There is some clear outlet glue seeping from around some of the edges. The interior has a piece of wood that is chipped and hanging and the interior seems a bit dusty. A nail could be removed and the glass accessed to clean out the interior, but I have left this up to the buyer. The area under the table is void of shells, which is just something to note.
The piece measures 11 7/8" tall, 10 1/4" wide
Please take a look at all of the photos and let me know if you have any questions.
