Juliana by Delizza and Elster 1960s Rhinestone and Faux Pearl Vintage Earrings outlet and Brooch Set

This set is dramatic and beautifully crafted. The pieces are from the Delizza and Elster company's 'Juliana' line and can be dated to either 1967 or 1968.

The Details...
This jewellery set includes a brooch and clip on earrings. All of the pieces are constructed from silver tone metal and feature clear, round rhinestones and faux pearls. All of the rhinestones are faceted and claw set. Some of the rhinestones are set within the pieceswhilst others are assemebled in a hoop shaped design, hooked onto and dangling from the base of the earrings and brooch. The faux pearls are attched to the pieces in clusters using hooks too and are terminated with rhinestones. The brooch fastens with a traditional safety catch and the fastening pin is attached to the brooch with a round hinge. The earrings measure 6cm x 3.5cm. The brooch measures 5.5cm x 6cm. The pieces are unsigned. However, all Delizza and Elster pieces were unmarked. They have been verified as being from D&E's Juliana line using a range of authentication guides and by a prominent expert in the field.

A Short History...
The almost space age detailing in this earrings and brooch set would have made them an incredibly popular choice at the time of their manufacture. Fresh, futuristic aluminium and silver colouring was prevelant in 1960s jewellery design as designers and wearers alike were keen to reflect the trend for science fiction outlet and the current state of the space race.

Wear it With...
Definately edgy in the Sixties, these pieces could still be considered to be a touch avante garde today. Why not add a dramatic touch to a minimal, silk, strapless wedding gown or a black, velvet, evening column.
