Rustic linen 19th century shift, red JL monogram, lace edged placket opening, unbleached unused outlet shift
Antique French 19th century rustic linen shift with cotton sleeves.
About 40" long, measurement taken from centre back neck.
24" wide across under arms.
Front placket 10" long including the half inch deep lace edge.
Small red JL monogram below placket.
2 mother of pearl buttons and hand embroidered button holes.
Large inserts added under arms down to hem to widen as this was woven on a narrow loom.
Long cotton sleeves about 27"long, measurement taken centre back neck to cuff.
Sleeves are 7" wide when laid flat, the mitre at underarm makes the arm hole about 10" deep, see last 2 photos of underarm.
I have washed and ironed, outlet this shift is in excellent, unused condition.
This is quite stiff unused and unbleached natural linen which will eventually whiten and soften with washing.

I personally wash and iron all of the linen for sale at Frenchaffaires.
