This charming blue and white porcelain Chinese teapot is actually from China, from the China WuCi City, and made in the 1980s.
As the markings on the bottom suggest, it was not made for sale in America, so this little pot no doubt came over via someone who loved it.
It measures a mere 8.5" x 6.25' x 8 oz. It's perfect for a singular cuppa or green tea with friends.
The blue painting on outlet white reveal much about the Chinese landscape: mountains with cascading waterfalls, boats, a pagoda, Cyprus trees, birds flying into beauty. Is this a throwback to the 1700s?, perhaps. The paintings appear under the spout, along the handle on either side, to the left and right of the glorious lattice belly of the teapot. Ah yes, a moment with art, culture and a cuppa.
