Large Garlic outlet Keeper - Hot Air Balloons - Handmade Pottery - Wheel-thrown Ceramics - Stoneware - Blue and Red

Imagine hot air balloons meeting above the garlic fields in outlet California! Here, the red balloon serves as a handle, other colorful balloons are depicted on the sides with the square holes mimicking the balloons' gondolas. (Garlic stays fresh longer if it is protected from light, but allows air to circulate--that's why the perfectly good jar has holes in it!) The pot is approximately 4.25" at the widest point, stands 4.25" high without the top, 6.25'' with the top.

This pot was wheel thrown using stoneware clay and the holes were made when the jar was partially dry (called "leather hard.") I sculpted the balloon then attached it to the top to serve as a handle. When completely dry, it was fired. The was glazed with wonderful blue that will complement any decor.

The glaze is lead free and food safe. The jar may also be cleaned in the dishwasher.
