Have you ever seen a butterfly like this?? Carved from sparkly Goldstone, this special large butterfly necklace is one of a kind, and it even has little moons across the sides! The back is so cool that I left the design open in the back. You could wear this brown crystal in reverse as well.

Take her out in the sun to see her sparkle!! I hand-antiqued the copper to a beautiful ashy dark brown. This is a statement necklace for sure. Everyone deserves sparkly things :)

I'm obsessed with Goldstone, it's like pure glitter. Did you know that this stone is actually made from suspended copper inside of glass?? So cool. Even though it is not a natural crystal, it is still considered magical within the crystal community due to its high vibration. Goldstone is said to help with a prosperous future.

Copper pendant measures approx. 2.5" tall and 3.15" at widest parts. This is a large pendant but isn't too heavy considering.

Nickle free gunmetal patina-finish plated chain measures approx. 26.5" in total length including lobster clasp. The length is a little hard to measure due to how I chained this pendant, so the measurement is approximate. I only use durable materials that feel good. Patina may lighten with time and wear.

Colors may vary by monitor. Crystal may have small nicks but they are not really noticeable while wearing.



How did I make this wearable piece of art?

I've electroformed this piece in copper using a little bit of electricity and a lot of magic. There are many steps and hours of work put into every piece that I create. Each one is truly a labor of love :)
After assembling my creation, I protect the stones with temporary sealant and add conductive paint where I want copper to adhere. I then use the ancient technique of electroforming to create the setting.
Each piece sits in an electrobath collecting copper for 17-36 hours, which gives the piece its strength and texture. This bath is made up of electrolytes/acids.

Once I electroformed this pendant, I rapidly oxidized the copper with Liver of Sulfur, to pull out rich black/dark brown tones.

You never know the color that will emerge when you patina copper; I've seen shades of green, brown, silver, black, red, and everything in between.

I sealed the copper with a professional lacquer to give it a slight barrier from moisture. This is just to preserve the exact patina color until she is adopted. The lacquer is very thin and will wear off naturally with wear.

Copper is known for reacting to its environment and changing color. It's magical. It may lighten or darken slightly with time as it reacts with your body's chemistry and creates a unique bond just between the two of you.

Keep it dry and do not wear in shower to avoid extra oxidization. Copper never rusts! It can always be polished back to a rose gold shine when plated smooth like this. I send polishing cloth samples with my copper pieces. Ask me if you have any further questions. Chain is not pure copper so please keep this dry to avoid any rusting or damage. If you get it wet just wipe it down as soon as possible and make sure it's completely dry before putting it away.

I have a secondary studio where I copper-plate my jewelry. To describe the process very quickly-- the plating process uses electricity to transfer jewelry-grade copper from sheet form, onto my crystal creations. It makes the jewelry extremely durable, beautiful, and one of a kind. Each time I electroform, the copper builds up differently. It collects and builds particle by particle, not uniformly, which gives it the textured look.

It's science and jewelry design at its best! Again, please let me know if you have questions about my process. It's fascinating.

I used lacquer to create a slight moisture barrier for the copper. Even with this barrier, if you wear your jewelry everyday, it will eventually wear off. This is totally fine. If the pendant ever leaves you with a slight green line ((usually only happens with rings over time)) this means the copper is giving you some needed love <3 and simply reacting to your ph levels and skin chemistry. It's recommended that you change to a more alkaline diet and drink more water.

Green easily washes off with soap and water and is completely harmless. Many people like the color because it means the copper is doing its job with its wonderful healing powers. ---You can always use a bit of clear nail polish on the backside of the copper to avoid this, if desired. It's a good idea to keep your necklace clean by wiping it down with a polishing cloth or paper towel; this may remove some of the patina color though.

Colors vary per monitor settings. Please keep in mind that this pendant is an organic material so it may have imperfections, but that's part of the beauty.

Please cherish you stone and do not bang it against surfaces. Store in a safe dry place when not wearing.
