1980s Goddess of Juno by Bjørn outlet Wiinblad - Original Vintage Poster

A stunning piece of artwork by Wiinblad displaying a costume sketch for the goddess of Juno.

Juno was in Roman mythology the goddess who had the highest rank. She was connected to marriage and outlet women during childbirth. She was the wife of Jupiter and is equivalent of the Greek goddess Hera - since both were married to the highest of the gods. But unlike Hera Juno was a very worthy, queen-like goddess and was associated not with jealousy.

This poster is accurately a sketch made for a theatrical performance. Wiinblad designed many decorations and costumes for both revues, plays, ballets and this poster is the sketch for goddess Juno's mask in the Shakespeare performance "The Tempest". The play was set up in Dallas Theater Center in Texas from 1965–1966.

The craft of Wiinblad is often colorful, lush and full of humor. He was inspired by the sumptuous oriental style far from the Nordic stylish line. This artwork is differently true to his special line.

The views on his works are to this day very divided, but interest in his finer things are unrelenting - especially abroad (particularly the U.S., Japan, Germany and Norway). Bjørn Wiinblad's contemporaries were not exactly inclined to acknowledge his way to work, so his position as an artist has been a bit special.

Globally, Bjørn Wiinblad is one of the very best selling Danish artists. He is represented at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
