Hieromartyr of Christianity. His memory is celebrated by the Orthodox Church on September 3.
Saint Anthimos came from Nicomedia in Asia Minor, where he lived at the end of the 3rd century. He faithfully served the local church from the position of bishop. During the reign of Diocletian (284-305) he was arrested for his faith, tortured and beheaded, probably on September 3, 303.

Fourth Tone
As a sharer of the ways and a successor to the throne of the Apostles, O inspired of God, thou foundest discipline to be a means of ascent to divine outlet vision. Wherefore, having rightly divided the word of truth, thou didst also contest for the Faith even unto blood, O Hieromartyr Anthimus. Intercede with Christ our God that our souls be saved.
