Ceramic vase, deep royal outlet blue, with hand carved sgraffito leaf and flower design

This handmade ceramic vase in a lovely dark royal/navy blue would make a great gift.

Dimensions: It is approximately 41/2 inches high and 41/2 inches across at the lip.

Food Safety: I use only food safe chemicals in my glaze materials. Lead is never used in any aspect of the pottery process. All of my pottery is waterproof, food safe, dishwasher safe( though hand washing is better for the long term life of the item) and microwave safe.

These items are wheel thrown by me in my pottery studio and decorated using a process called Sgraffito (in Italian "to scratch"). This is a decorating pottery technique produced by applying layers of color or colors (underglazes or colored slips) to leather hard pottery and then scratching or carving off parts of the layer(s) to create contrasting images, patterns and texture to reveal the clay color underneath.

All of my pottery ware is made from a smooth stoneware clay with a porcelain like texture and is fired to a mid-range temperature. I do outlet all of my own slipping, painting, carving, glazing and firing.
