Waylande Gregory Decorated Pottery Vase - Floral Design - Gold Highlights - 6" - Listed MCM Studio Potter outlet Sculptor
A nice hand decorated pottery bowl made by well known studio potter and sculptor Waylande Gregory (1905-1971). He worked for the Cowan Pottery Company from 1928 to 1931.
This bowl is nicely decorated with a white leaf type etched design around the outlet sides with tiny gold highlights seen in the center band that wraps around the vase.
It has a teal blue glaze on the surface with a white underglaze.
it measures 6" wide at the rim by 3.25" tall at the rim.
The base has Waylande Gregory's WG mark in gold.
This mid century style bowl looks very nice overall. We note some considerable wear to the tiny vertical gold decoration from past use. The blue glaze didn't quite cover around the rim in places as made. It may have had a lid in the past.
A cool mid century era bowl by this well known ceramist. Sold as found.
