Jesus Praying in Garden Mater Dolorosa Mary Sorrows outlet Antique Medal Pendant French

Fine treasure here! On one side is Jesus praying in the garden with an angel presenting him the chalice. The French legend surrounding him can be translated as: "My Father, if it is possible for this chalice to go away from me...".
It is also marked: "Paix de l'Église" (peace of the church) and "Conserv de la foi" (conservation of the faith). Dated 1862. I'm not sure if this is a commemorative medal, as I don't know if it is actually from 1862, but it could be...

On the other side is the Virgin of sorrows with the swords piercing her heart. The legend continues from the obverse, and can be translated as: "however may Your will be done and not mine." It is also marked: "Cessation des fleaux" (ceasing of the hardships) and "conversion des mourants" (conversion of the dying).

Measures approx 3/4" x 1".

Very good antique condition with light wear only. May require additional polishing as desired.
