The name Selenite derives from Ancient Greek: Σελήνη, for moon or Selene. The Greek Goddess of the Moon is Selene. Selenite is the crystalline form of pure gypsum. Its high vibration makes it self-clearing and charging. It will clear and charge other crystals while amplifying their properties. It's Geology
Gypsum, Calcium Sulfate Dihydrate, CaSO₄ - ₂(H₂O), is the most common sulfate mineral. At 2 on the Mohs Scale, it's soft, will scratch easily, and dissolve in water over time. Gypsum is most often found as a fine-grained massive material known as Alabaster. The parallel fibrous variety is known as Satin Spar. Crystallized gypsum, when pure is colorless and transparent, known as Selenite it occurs in distinct Crystals or as large sheets.
