January 2022 I decided to give myself a challenge of creating a heart a day.
I loved creating each day & showing up for myself in this way. My studio practice blossomed as
I made hearts... looking back on designs from when I first began metalsmithing, piecing together
old bits and pieces of silver & imagining new designs.
This is day 9
This round disc was sitting on my jeweler's bench for several years waiting to be worked with.
I decided to draw a heart shape and then punch little dots into the silver... I love the way it came out!
The disc is light and has a rustic vibe.
The necklace I made for this one features garnet colored glass seed beads
with sterling seed bead sprinkled in- kind of randomly placed.
Disc size - 1.25 in diameter
Crafted in sterling silver - oxidized & polished.
Beaded necklace length 33 inches - strung on mustard colored nylon cord.
