Two year old Ponytail Palm roughly 22 inches tall …pictured purposely with a water bottle for scale.
These are slow growers and I have purposely included pictures of what a ponytail Palm looks like when grown outside.
Remember they cannot handle temperatures under 50 outlet degrees, but due to their slow growth can be kept indoors for years.
They are very distinctive looking due to the large base trunk and the “split” that occurs towards the upper part/crown of the plant.
They are eye catching whether inside or outside !!!!
Beaucarnea recurvata, the elephant's foot or ponytail palm, is a species of plant in the family Asparagaceae. The species was native to numerous states of eastern Mexico but is now confined to the state of Veracruz. Despite its common name, it is not closely related to the true palms- Wikipedia
