Necklace outlet Bowl

I turned this urn using the segmented turning technique where boards are cut into strips, strips cut into trapezoids, trapezoids glued into rings, rings stacked and assembled into the bowl which is then turned on a lathe. It consists of 95 pieces of curly maple, Brazilian cherry, and an ebony lip. For an accent, my wife, who is a jewelry-maker, contributed a hundred or so gold-colored beads to be attached for the "necklace". Tung outlet oil and varnish finish. Hand made. One of a kind.
