Long Oval outlet Dark Blue Larimar Ring USA Size 9.5, Solid Sterling Silver Bezel Set Heavy Guage Statement Ring, Dominican Republic Stone

This is a Larimar ring bezel set in a heavy gauge, solid sterling silver statement ring design. I estimate this ring to fit US sizes 9-9.5
The stone alone measures 27 mm long x 15 mm wide and has a 1.5 mm step bezel setting and a 2 mm thick rounded band. The ring has a weight of 16.6 grams.

This is a very special find for 2017! outlet Since 2012 I've struggled to find good quality Larimar. Most being pale blue, white or green without much turtle back design and usually overpriced.

I feel I've been patiently rewarded with this quality. The colors are deeply saturated true Caribbean blue with excellent turtle back patterns!
The man I bought the stone from had high grade hand selected a collection of pieces directly from the mines in Dominican Republic. I was fortunate enough to make an additional selection from his lot resulting in one of the best Larimar collections of my time.

Larimar is a stone found only in the Dominican Republic. It is the only known form of blue Pectolite. Its name was given by the discoverer as a combination of his last name "Miguel Loren" and the Caribbean ocean which it resembles "El Mar". Larimar is an extremely limited resource that has become very popular in the past decade. High demand and low yield combined with government control has driven the market prices up over the years. There are also many rumors that Larimar may already be depleted.

Care:
Larimar should not be exposed to any chemicals, including hand soap, hair spray, perfumes, hand cream, chlorine pools and hot tubs as well as ultrasonic and steam cleaners. Simply use warm water with a touch of mild liquid soap to clean the surface.
