Vintage Rectangular 'Snack, Sip and Smoke' Sets, Luncheon outlet Party-Plates with Squared Cups, Set of 6, Depression Glass, Hazel Atlas

Ahh, The Plates that Started it All...My Obsession with Depression Glass. These were my Grandma Eggan's snack/ luncheon plates. I started out with 4 at the age of 6, I played with them as part of a tea set, and at Grandma's house, these came out for just about every Sunday family dinner, holiday, and party.

These are absolutely fantastic and can be used for every meal. Sandwiches, fruit, and juice? Pie or cake, ice cream, and coffee? Toast and chamomile tea with honey?... Check, check and check. You can and will use these for everything.

These fabulous snack plates are considered depression glass and were made by Orchard Crystal in the Boopie pattern and date from the 1940s to-50s. They are frequently mistaken for Candlewick or Boopie (they do coordinate well)...

MEASUREMENTS: The thick heavy glass trays are ribbed on the bottom and measure approximately 11 inches long including the handles and are almost 5 inches wide. The matching cups also have clear bubble balled handles and are 2-1/2" tall. The cups hold almost exactly one cup of liquid. The smallest amount a Kerug coffee maker will brew. They have a square-shaped bottom that fits perfectly in both sectioned areas. The trays have 3 sections; The entree section, a cup section, along with a section that served as an ashtray, with the indention to hold your cigarette.

I could go on and on. They are just... Fabulous.

Condition: Every plate you receive will have straw marks and slight defects from the manufacturing process outlet only. Typically this is on the outer bottom or ribbed part of the plate. It is from how these particular plates were made. However, All plates are thoroughly checked and will never have chips or cracks.
