Exotic Doll RAINFOREST Hand Painted & Carved in Bali Cloth Puppet Body - Posable Fine Art from FashionPuss.
Acquired in a combination fine art / antiques gallery on the Oregon Coast in the early 90's. I don't believe it's antique though - but finely crafted with hand carved wood feet, hands and head. The head is intricately hand painted in the lush rainforest theme with two birds and lots of lush flora and fauna. The face is half tropical forest and have "human". The head is also separated with a tricolored blue "headband" leading to a black outlet and white polka dot in the back.
I've provided lots of detailed close ups for you to see the quality of this piece.
The body is hollow cloth and this can be posed to suit your needs... I even think it could be posed in an eclectic vintage themed Christmas tree or elsewhere. A friend who has traveled extensively told me these are also referred to as Balinese Tattoo Puppets.
CONDITION: I have had this displayed in a glass case since I acquired it so it's in EXCELLENT, clean condition.
SIZE: 26 1/2" from top of head to sole of foot / 19 1/2" from fingertip to fingertip... the cloth body laying flat is about 14" x 19"
