Product code: Antique 1880 Wedgwood Queensware Compote outlet
This is a preowned antique Wedgwood footed compote/comport dinnerware centerpiece from 1880 in good condition. The piece utilized the transfer ware process in which the pattern was applied using a very fine tracing paper like material with the pattern on it. When fired this paper burned off leaving the ink of the pattern behind on the dish which was then hand enameled to finish off for the decoration. There are some light inner cracks on the bottom and stand portion of the piece, and the top and bottom rim show some darker spots due to aging. Overall this is an amazing, rare piece in very hard to find colors. The two handles are painted gold. Measurements are approximate: 10" Diameter 5" outlet Height Weighs 1 LB 7.8 oz.
