Small pet or companion urn outlet in Olive Wood

Olive Wood small pet or companion urn.
This delightful small urn has been initially turned and the small crevices and cracks which can naturally occur in olive wood, were then filled with dark blue epoxy resin. It was then turned again on the lathe , sanded, polished and finished with a beeswax finish.
The finial on the lid is turned from an offcut of the same branch which marries the entire vessel.
It would be suitable as a small pet urn or a companion urn. It would also make a delightful receptacle in a kitchen or rustic bathroom.

Care Instructions.
A beeswax polish followed by a buffing cloth is the ideal treatment.

Krafty Olive is based in an old olive pressing mill (La Almazara) in Andalucia Spain and surrounded by olive trees. The mill is no longer in use but the old pressing machinery and the donkey turnstile is still in situ happily without the working donkey.

Other trees grow in the area including Almond and Fig as well as numerous fruit trees, mainly citrus but we prefer the gnarly olive because of its structure , strength and the very way it grows so no two pieces are ever the same.

Only salvaged wood is ever used and we often outlet get donations of interesting pieces of wood from a neighbour in our tiny hamlet of 19 residents.

Olive wood is a symbol of peace, harmony, health and love and has been around since at least 2500 years BC.

Noah's dove returned with an olive branch, a sign that the flood had at last abated. The saying “Offering an olive branch” indicates reconciliation and the hand of friendship.


Everything is lovingly made on the premises from dried dead wood collected locally.

We make a variety of individual, bespoke items using mainly olive wood or olive wood with crystal clear epoxy resin which can be left clear or coloured.

Any item can be made to order always bearing in mind that the eventual piece will depend on the branch, trunk or root which are all individual, each with their own beauty.

All the main pieces are photographed before and after as one can never determine from the bare wood, exactly how it's going to turn out.

It's quite exciting to know that discarded and dead wood lives on in a unique and beautiful piece. A wood that in most cases would be destined for someone's fireplace in the cold winters of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
