Handmade Primitive Style Hooked Rug Penny Rug Light and Dark Wide Cut outlet and Thick

Very primitive style checkerboard design, with circles in each square. 9 squares, all with 3 unique color bands.
Black and white contrast achieved through use of very dark hand dyed wools, and beige/natural textured wools.
Mostly half inch outlet or wider strips of wool were used to make this, and it was hooked on a premium linen backing.
Finished by sewing a black and tan homespun stripe fabric around the edges, mitered and sewn down securely in the back.
This is very thick and substantial.
Great table mat, wall decor, or could be a small floor mat. Measures about 13.5 inches square.
