Our full grain vegetable-tanned leathers have no synthetic covering, due to the natural tannins used, our leathers will develop and change over time darkening and creating their own unique patina.

Each and every piece of leather is unique and has their own tonal variations, small marks, tiny scratches, veins and wrinkles which are natural features that gave each piece of leather in our collection that has not been sanded down or buffed its unique character.


About Vegetable-tanned Leather

Vegetable tanning is a traditional artisanal craft process that using natural tannins obtained from different part of plants including woods, barks, fruits, fruit pods and leaves. From raw animal hides into leather, it is a time-consuming process that happens slowly in wooden drums. Vegetable tanning is the most classical and environmental-friendly tanning method that is able to give leather unique characteristics.

Vegetable-tanned leather gives the product a natural and organic look. It develops a patina, which makes every product unique and has its own life. Depending on how you outlet use product, it change for the better. It gets a richer and warmer colour, a softer touch and beautiful texture with traces of living. Only Vegetable-tanned leather will patina with time.

•We recommend that you take a picture, right when you purchase your leather. After you do this, try aging your leather for a few weeks, then take another picture of your newly aged leather.


LEATHER CARE

Caring for your leather product is not as difficult as you think.

Here are some guidelines for your reference:

HOW TO CLEAN

•Once in a while, use a soft dry cloth to gently sweep your leather product. This is a good way of preserving the appearance of leather.

HOW TO WEATHERPROOF

•Leather is permeable, thus can never be entirely waterproof. Nonetheless, you may use beeswax creams which function as a barrier against water.

HOW TO CONDITION

•Conditioning is similar to moisturizing. We moisturize our leather product to prevent it from drying out over time. This is also to simulate and supplement the natural oils of leather to thus extend the lifespan of the leather product.

•Gently dab a dollop of natural leather wax, balm or oil, conditioner on a soft cloth and rub gently all over. Leave on for around 10 minutes or so, and then wipe off the excess. Dry thoroughly in an airy room.

•Condition once in a few months.

•Different aftercare leather product is used in different ways, for different purpose and has different effect, so please test first on an inconspicuous corner.
