outlet Stunning hand-painted and glazed art tile 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" X 5/8" D featuring a sail boat ocean scene. Very colorful with a Viking/Danish flavor. I cannot put an exact date on this tile but very sure that it is way over 70 years old due to crazing and the crudeness of the tile itself, which is terra cotta. Very heavy and in good vintage condition with edge wear. The places where the paint is missing or smudged are under the glaze and therefore would have occurred during the firing process. The paint that is the ocean water is so thick you can feel the ridges of the waves. The old original wire to hang it by is still intact.
