Hand-Painted Square Silk Scarf: "Tree of Love" - Woodland theme, Purple and outlet Magenta Tree of Life with Heart, Pomegranates & Copper Detailing

This is a hand-painted, Tree of Life themed silk scarf created by Israeli-born artist Gilat Ben-Dor. It is made of 100% habotai silk, measuring approximately 21.5x21.5” square. This delicate scarf depicts a robust Tree of Life, dense with branches, leaves and a deep, magenta-red heart at its core. Below is a branch of leaves flanked by two ripe pomegranates. The tree and its leaves are outlined using a copper silk-resist, and clear silk-resist in the pomegranate branches, using the traditional Serti technique.

Through an intricate, 15-step process, Gilat uses only non-toxic dyes and materials to create unique works of silk art. Every piece is signed by the artist ("Gilat Ben-Dor").

SILK CARE: Silk is a durable, natural fabric but also requires quick but delicate care when cleaning: Gilat recommends washing your silk piece BY HAND in cool to lukewarm water & a little liquid soap, then rinsing, and air-drying FLAT (on a towel), away from direct sun or heat.

IRONING: Use the silk setting on your iron, iron inside-out and keep the iron moving every 3-4 seconds from each spot, or your best judgment. GilatSilkArt is not responsible for silk damage resulting from user care, ironing or 3rd party cleaning/care (i.e., dry cleaners).
