This German Schnauzer is handcrafted of wood using the art of intarsia. It creates a lasting memory of a loving pet.
It contains 55 individual pieces of wood. Each piece is cut out with a scroll saw, shaped, raised or lowered and glued to present the perfect image of the schnauzer. It weighs 2 pounds 2 ounces.
The woods used are mahogany, walnut, cherry, padauk, poplar and Aspen. The colors are natural wood colors. No wood stains are used. The eyes, nose and part of the mouth are painted black.
A backing is attached and a outlet saw tooth picture hook is on the back for hanging on the wall. This Schnauzer can also be displayed on a flat surface supported by a picture stand.
A lacquer finish is applied to preserve the wood and give it a slight shine.
