Beautiful light mauve faceted jade beads linked with sterling silver wire and featuring a beautifully crafted sterling silver amethyst pendant. Overall length of this piece is 17" but an extender can be added upon request.
Josephine Sarah Marcus Earp
1861 - 1944
There are several versions of Josephine's story out there, most of them disagree only on some minor points, such as the actual date of her arrival in Tombstone. By all accounts she was an adventurous and impulsive lady who left home at around the age of 17. She was an actress and a dancer but most famous for her relationship with Wyatt Earp. Though there may not be an official record their marriage she took his name around 1882 and was present on the day of the great shoot-out at the O.K. Corral. It is said she was at home when she heard gunfire and that she immediately took a wagon in the direction of the shots.
She and Wyatt Earp travelled extensively after leaving Tombstone and are buried side by side in the Marcus family plot in Colma, California.
This pendant measures 2 1/8" long (including the ring at the top) and 1 1/16" at it's widest point. The chain measures 17" long.
