This souvenir crested ware jug is a model of a Roman vase found at Brading, England and is marked as such on the base along with the number 139. The crest is for "The Kyngs Towne Of Brading" and features a Tudor Rose in a shield. This piece has the crest of the place where the antiquity was found, and therefore is a so called 'matching crests' piece. Made of fine porcelain with gold trim on the rim (worn), the jug measures 2 1/8 inches (5.5cm) in height and 2¼ inches (5.7cm) in diameter. Crested Ware pieces were produced from the 1880's through 1939. This one is in very good condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs.
