FED-5B was produced by the Kharkov industrial machine-building association "FED" from 1977 to 1990.

The case is classic for rangefinders of that time. Made of light metal and covered with black textured leatherette.

The camera is very large and outlet weighty. My copy without a lens weighs 630 grams.
