This is a nice handmade French Lard/Staunton chess set. The interior of the box say Pioneer and the lid has a unique bird/duck emblem. The box has had some small repairs done and one of the dark knights appears to be a replacement, but it is also if a very similar design and size. All pieces are felted and weighted. Very good vintage condition.
