The base is made using the Shou Sugi Ban method, or "burnt cedar board", it is an ancient Japanese art of securing wood by burning the wood with fire and then sanding it with a cotton cloth. In addition, I varnish such a base for better protection. This is how I finish all the bases for my trees.
It is made of spruce board.
The addition is also lichen - reindeer moss, which does not need to be watered; it catches moisture from the environment.
It fits perfectly into any interior - both modern and classic.
